Sylvia in the Pocket is here to bring the atmosphere to life.
Vibrant sounds. Five members. One local band.
Based around Lilydale and the Yarra Valley, Sylvia in the Pocket brings live funk, soul and pop to parties, festivals and events. We play with the feel of musicians listening to one another - not around a backing track.
Our sweet spot is atmosphere: warm background grooves while people arrive and talk, then more energy when the room is ready. The set and line-up can flex around the space, the schedule and the people in it.
That balance is what the band has always been about: vibrant live sound, a relaxed presence and enough pocket to make the whole room feel better.

Leila brings her passion for music and performance to any environment, on or off the stage. With experience busking and performing live at recitals, exhibitions, weddings and more, she is confident and ready to create an atmosphere for any occasion.
Zac has a love for all things music. Whether it’s live performance or jamming with friends, he loves exploring different genres and styles. With a Certificate III in Music Performance, Zac brings depth, groove and energy to every stage.
Whether it’s upbeat grooves or freeform jazz, Josiah expertly plays with the band. Qualified with a Certificate III in Music Performance and inspired by artists such as Stevie Wonder and Prince, Jo loves playing in a band and enjoying guitar.
Bo has seven years of experience and a Certificate III in Music Performance. Playing across a wide range of genres with strong improvisation skills, Bo blends creativity with technical precision and adds colour and texture to every performance.
Euan has been drumming for more than half his life and is passionate about making music that sounds snazzy - especially songs with odd time signatures. He completed a Certificate III in Music Performance in 2025 and brings dynamic, energetic and groovy playing to the band.
